Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ScentMatch. By using the service, you agree to them.

1. What ScentMatch is

ScentMatch is an AI fragrance advisor. It analyzes the fragrance collection you enter, along with context you provide (location, season, lifestyle), to give you purchase guidance ("verdicts"), daily picks, and recommendations.

2. AI advice disclaimer

Verdicts and recommendations are AI-generated informational opinions, not guarantees. Fragrance is subjective, and how something wears on you can differ from how it wears on anyone else. Test on skin when possible. We are not responsible for the outcome of purchases you make based on our recommendations.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ScentMatch, or at least 16 where local law requires a higher minimum age for consenting to data processing. Keep your account email accurate. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans (Pro) bill through Stripe and renew automatically each period, monthly or annual, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in Settings through the Stripe customer portal. Your access continues through the end of the period you already paid for. All payments are final: we do not offer refunds or partial-period credits. Prices can change, and we will give you notice before your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

Do not abuse, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or interfere with the service. Free-tier limits are enforced, and attempting to circumvent them is a violation of these terms.

6. Intellectual property

The service, its design, and its content belong to us or our licensors. Your collection data stays yours. You grant us the license we need to operate the service on your behalf, nothing more.

7. Termination

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Disclaimers and liability cap

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Arbitration and class waiver

Disputes are resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Either party may instead bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. Class actions are waived. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@scentmatch.me within 30 days of first accepting these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We will announce material changes in-app or by email, and update the date and version above. Continued use of ScentMatch after the effective date counts as acceptance.
